EASTERN SONG III

Among a ton of extraordinary photographs whether contents or techniques including perfect beautiful pictures. They shout at people to turn around and pay attention to them all the time. Hard to ignore, sometimes we are madly fascinated by them unconsciously. The appearance of ‘Eastern Song iii’ by Kukkong Thirathomrongkiat, an architect who is fascinated by photography, is proof that ‘ordinary beautiful’ or ‘imperfect beautiful’ can stand against strong winds of current popular photography in this time admirably.

Eastern Song iii is full of simple quiet photographs, humble, charming like a tranquil sea in the cloudy sky. These photographs let the audiences deeply mull about their past, far away, and hear the old song in their imaginations.
Kukkong has raised interesting questions “I always have questions whenever I’m in front of nature. Only the existence of it somehow affects our emotions so much. How does the feeling of beauty happen, Judging by our feelings, or actually it was built to make us feel. And if it is, can other living things feel the same?”

Nature always gives us simple answers, but ambiguous. It's up to us how to discover and interpret those significant answers. No different from ‘Eastern Song iii’, Kukkong is asking an open question waiting for audiences to explore, feel, and discover the suitable answers by themselves. — Akkara Naktamna
